Bengaluru Power Outage on 25 July: BESCOM has Announced Temporary Power Cuts Due to Maintenance Work

Residents in parts of Bengaluru are likely to experience a temporary power outage on Saturday, July 25, due to urgent maintenance work being carried out by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). According to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), maintenance work will be undertaken in the 66/11 KV

Abbigere substation area. As a result, electricity supply is expected to remain disrupted from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in several localities.

Bengaluru Areas to be Affected

The areas likely to be affected include Kammagondanahalli, Lakshmipur, Vaderahalli, Abbigere Industrial Area, Singapore Layout and areas around Pipeline Road. Residents living in Kashirama Nagar, Kuvempu Nagar, Visvesvaraya Layout, Brigade Parkside North Apartment and nearby localities may also face temporary power interruptions during the maintenance period.

Reason behind Bengaluru's Power Outage on 25 July

The maintenance work is being carried out to improve the reliability and safety of the electricity distribution network. Such scheduled shutdowns help the authorities inspect and upgrade power infrastructure, reducing the chances of unexpected outages in the future.

BESCOM is the electricity distribution company responsible for supplying power across eight districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumakuru, Chitradurga and Ramanagara. The utility operates through four zones, nine circles, 32 divisions, 147 sub-divisions and more than 500 section offices to manage power distribution across the state.

BESCOM has advised residents to plan their activities, especially those who depend on electricity for work, business or other essential services. Power supply is expected to be restored once the maintenance work is completed, provided there are no unexpected delays.
