Indian Railways has decided to extend the services of the Hubballi-Rameswaram weekly special train, providing more travel options for passengers heading to the important pilgrimage destination in Tamil Nadu, based on passenger demand for the route.

Hubballi-Rameswaram Special Trains
The special service connects Sree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Junction in Karnataka with Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, passes through several important towns and cities in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, making it useful for passengers travelling between the two States.
The service operates as Train No. 07355, SSS Hubballi-Rameswaram Weekly Express Special, and Train No. 07356, Rameswaram-SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special.
According to the latest announcement, Train No. 07355, which was earlier scheduled to operate only until August 30, 2026, has now been extended. The train will run on September 6, September 13, September 20 and September 27, providing four additional trips.
The return service, Train No. 07356, was earlier scheduled to run until August 31, 2026. It has now been extended to operate on September 7, September 14, September 21 and September 28. This also adds four trips during the extended period.
The route includes stations such as Haveri, Ranibennur, Harihar, Davangere, Chikkajajur, Birur, Arsikere, Tiptur, Tumakuru and Banaswadi before entering Tamil Nadu. It then passes through Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi, Sivaganga, Manamadurai and Ramanathapuram before reaching Rameswaram.
The train is particularly useful for pilgrims visiting Rameswaram, one of India's major religious destinations. It also provides connectivity for people travelling for tourism and other personal purposes. The extended services are expected to benefit passengers from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, especially those who depend on rail transport for long-distance journeys. Additional trips will also help passengers during periods of high demand.
