Panch Gagh Falls, Ranchi

About 40 km from Ranchi near Khunti, Panch Ghagh is a lovely picnic spot amidst lush green forests. It is the collective name for a group of five waterfalls (punch ghagh in the dehati tongue) formed in a row due to the breaking up of the Banai river.

Cemented walkways connect the different cataracts, of which stream two is the most popular while five is the biggest, though a bit inaccessible. One can walk down from the tourist shelter to the base of stream two. Recently these five falls have become a centre of attraction for many tourists visiting Ranchi due to its eternal beauty, pristine surroundings and calm atmosphere.
